Well from today Amazon search technology now powers Boatshed.com when you are trying to find a boat!

In a marine industry "first", Boatshed.com have leveraged the vast computing power of Amazon Web Services to help our users find boats more easily than ever before. Amazon CloudSearch technology has been incorporated into the boatshed platform.

"With nearly 2500 boats for sale and growing all the time, we decided that our customers needed an easier way to quickly find boats of interest to them.The complexity of hundreds of Brands, Models, Types, Categories plus a huge range of design options means that traditional search technology struggles to keep up when looking for a boat on the web. We have been aware for some time that our original search functions on Boatshed.com were not helping customers as much as we would like.

We have been working on this project for about 6 months and in the early stages it became apparent that building a new custom search system for Boatshed was going to be restrictive. By utilising services from Amazon we were able to create a much richer search environment. Customers are used to sophisticated search function on the web and we wanted finding a boat to be no different" says Boatshed founder Neil Chapman.
