SV Traversay III - North West passage/Victoria
The Northwest Passage runs from a point North of Nuuq to a point similarly near Nome Alaska. We left London England on March 30, 2013.
Only 7 sail boats of our size made the east-west passage this year and only 15 people of those boat crews actually made the complete trip from Nuuq to Nome Alaska.
Our own trip was 9,000 nautical miles long and we completed our circumnavigation.
We normally travelled nearly full-time but stayed in:
A Dublin: 3 days
B Stornoway Scotland 9 days
C Reykjavik Iceland 5 days
D Upernavik Greenland 3 days;
E Arctic Bay Canada 8 days
F Tuktoyaktuk North West Territories 2 days
G Nome AK USA 36 hrs
H King Cove AK 17 days
I Prince Rupert British Columbia 2 days
Inside Passage to Victoria October 20-30 2013.
